Protecting sports, F1 and WWE cards

Same paper, same enemies: fingers, UV, shocks. Why sports cards, F1 and WWE wear, how the Anzena bumper protects them, and how to insert it.

A sports card, an F1 or WWE card, is the same physical object as a TCG card: coated board, ink, sometimes foil. It changes hands more often. The paper is not stronger because the subject is a driver or a wrestler.

Why these cards get damaged quickly

Sports collections are shown. You take the card out of the toploader “for the photo”, set it on a stand, put it away too fast. Sebum, foil scratches, corners. The UV of a lounge under a glass roof does the rest. Once graded, the slab scratches like any PSA — and the grade does not protect the shell.

Fingers, sun, shocks, wrong format

  • Repeated handling: grease and edge wear.
  • Sun / lounge spots: fading of the portrait and the team logo.
  • Shocks in luggage or a poorly seated box.
  • Heat (a car after a meeting).
  • The wrong bumper if the card is already in a slab.

How to insert

Raw and slab do not go in the same bumper.

  1. 01Raw: open the licence bumper, slide the card face to the pane, click shut.
  2. 02Graded: grader bumper only. The slab must enter without forcing.
  3. 03A firm seat, no play left.
  4. 04FlexWall: FlexLock back, then magnetise on the FlexFrame, out of direct sun.

Yes, with bumpers + FlexLock in the right format (raw or grader).

Will the Formula 1 bumper fit a US sports card?+

Yes in raw 63 × 88 mm. As soon as the card is slabbed, take the grader’s bumper (PSA, PCA or CCC).
